Our guide of what to look for in a yearbook supplier, the questions to ask and what we can offer.

How much work is required?

WavePrint: We have developed our systems to keep your side of things as simple as possible, all we ask of you is to collect the information and let us know roughly how you would like the book to look (for example by choosing one of our great customisable design themes), we do all of the time-consuming design work!

Look out for: Many systems claim to be the most efficient, when deciding, make sure you take into account all aspects of what is being asked of you. For instance, uploading files to a website may seem simple but takes time, especially when dealing with images.  Likewise, laying out your own pages is extremely time consuming - designing pages from scratch will be even more so (remember WavePrint employ a team of designers to do this).  Also consider the amount of chasing that you need to do, it will be easier to get dawdlers to fill in a piece of paper than to go online and fill in a form!

What are the design limitations?

WavePrint: As we employ professional designers to do the artwork, we are extremely flexible. We have a range of designs that you can use and adapt but if you want something different just let us know, we love a challenge!

Look out for: Some online systems offer limited creativity as they are more template driven, those that do allow you to design your own may require special software or design skills.  Remember that laying out a page is one thing, laying one out well is a skill that professionals train for years to learn!

Is there a minimum order quantity?

WavePrint: We allow you to order any quantity with no upper or lower limits.

Look out for: Some companies do impose minimum order quantities of 50 or 100.

Are there page limits?

WavePrint: You can have as many pages as you like and in any multiple of two, you don’t even need to decide at the start, you can add or remove pages as you go along.

Look out for: Some companies ask you to add pages in sets of four or eight, which can be expensive if you only need two!

What is the print/binding quality?

WavePrint: As we are a manufacturer, we are well placed in the industry to judge quality. Our books are printed on a state of the art press that offers quality that is second to none using ‘silk’ finish art paper. Our binding is tried and tested to ensure our books withstand the tests of time!

Look out for: We have seen many books printed on poor quality paper and on machines that are in actual fact not much more than laser copiers.  Ask to see a sample produced on the actual type of machine that yours will be.

How much does it cost?

WavePrint: The cost of our books is based on the number of pages, the binding style and the quantity, they are all inclusive (we don’t charge extra for bespoke design or delivery) and start from under £9. Contact us for a free no obligation quote.

Look out for: Make sure that you know what will affect the price and how, also check for any hidden costs such as for delivery or to have a representative visit to assist.

Investigate the reputation/track record!
